INDIANAPOLIS — A wave of deadly violence swept over Indianapolis Wednesday, with four people murdered and nine others wounded. The city has now recorded 99 homicides in 2020, a number that wasn't reached until September last year.

The latest shooting happened after 9 p.m. Wednesday at a west side apartment complex, leaving one person dead at the scene and another wounded, but expected to survive.

The location is near North High School Road and West 10th Street on Cimarron Trail.

Officers arriving at the apartments quickly radioed back that two male victims has been shot and one was dead. The fatality victim has been identified as Christopher Wolf, 25.

A public information officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the shooting took place outside and there was evidence of at least 12 shots fired.

There was no immediate word on what led up to the shooting. There has been no arrest.
