INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana University issued an alert Thursday saying a person had been attacked and robbed while jogging near the canal.

The victim told police that he was jogging near the NCAA Headquarters on February 26 when a group of teenage males approached him from behind. The victim said the teens punched him in the face and sprayed him with a liquid that caused a “burning sensation” before stealing his wallet. The group then ran from the scene.

The incident happened around 7:10 p.m.

Police say they have not identified any suspects at this time and anyone with information should contact the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department at 317-327-3811 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
