INDIANAPOLIS -- The death of an elderly man in the Glenns Valley neighborhood is the first homicide in the area in the past two years.

Officers were called to the 1800 block of Inisheer Court just after 9:30 a.m. on a report of a home robbery after the man's housekeeper arrived and found the house in disarray.

When officers arrived, they found the body of a man, believed to be the homeowner. Police have not released his identity at this time.

Police initially began searching for a black 2008 Hummer in connection with the shooting. The vehicle was found a few streets away shortly before noon.

Police also noticed the victim's white 2015 Ford Mustang was missing Friday evening and asked for the public's help to locate it. The vehicle was found Saturday morning in the 7500 block of Jenison Drive. Investigators say the person found in possession of the Mustang was not involved in the man's death.

The neighborhood where the body was found, known as Glenns Valley, is not used to seeing this kind of crime. There have been zero homicides in the past two years.
