Person hospitalized after Muncie shooting, BSU sends alert

MUNCIE, Ind. -- One person was hospitalized early Friday morning after a shooting a few blocks away from Ball State University.

The shooting happened in the 800 block of Beechwood Avenue around midnight.

Ball State alerted students of the shots fired call, then a sent a second alert an hour later, giving the all-clear. 

The victim was hospitalized in an unknown condition, a dispatcher with the Muncie Police Department said.

The shooting appeared to be drug-related, according to the Ball State Daily News.
