CAMPBELLSBURG — State police are looking for a southern Indiana man who is wanted on weapons and drug charges and disappeared while officers were obtaining a search warrant on his property.

Lewis Steward, 47, Campbellsburg, is wanted on seven charges after Indiana State Police and the Washington County Sheriff's Office investigated a marijuana growing operation earlier this month at his Campbellsburg home, according to a news release.

On Aug. 13, officers went to 9625 N. McKinley Road in Campbellsburg to investigate the marijuana growing operation and found enough information to apply for a search warrant.

When they served the warrant, officers found 113 marijuana plants in a hidden room in a building on the property, along with numerous firearms and evidence that explosive devices were being manufactured.

Steward disappeared before officers returned with the search warrant, while Heather Jo Voyles, 31, was arrested at the scene and was charged with dealing marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, manufacturing a destructive device, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, neglect of a dependent and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police are asking for help in finding Steward, who faces charges of violent felon in possession of a firearm, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, manufacturing and distribution of a destructive device, neglect of a dependent, maintaining a common nuisance, dealing marijuana and possession of marijuana.
