TIPTON COUNTY — A search is underway for a man authorities in Tipton County say did not return to jail after leaving to attend a family member's funeral.
The Tipton County Sheriff's Office is looking for 18-year-old Jay Dyvig, described as being a white male, 5 foot 9 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds with black hair and blue eyes.
Dyvig was granted a furlough to attend a funeral and did not return to jail after the 12-hour furlough was completed, the sheriff's office said on a wanted person poster. He is now wanted for failure to return to lawful detention, a Level 6 felony.
Authorities also believe Dyvig may have a firearm and may be dangerous.
