MONROE COUNTY — A Seymour robbery suspect was arrested after leading deputies in Monroe County on a chase early Saturday morning, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Monroe County Sheriff's deputies were looking for the suspect around 12:50 a.m. near State Road 45 and South Harmony Road after they were notified the suspect was possibly at a nearby general store, according to a Facebook post from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect led deputies on a chase after a deputy attempted to stop the minivan the suspect was driving, according to the post.

Deputies used a spike strip near West Elwren Road and State Road 45 to deflate the tires on the minivan, according to the post. The suspect continued driving for about a mile before running away.

The suspect was eventually arrested and had a handgun on them, according to the post. An item found in the minivan is believed to have been stolen during the robbery in Seymour.

The suspect was charged on the suspicion of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of a handgun without a license, reckless driving, and two counts of resisting law enforcement, according to the post.
