Investigators said around 3 p.m. Friday a Randolph County Sheriff's deputy, along wiuth the Lynn Town Marshal and Deputy Marshal responded to a house in the 800 block of West Church Street on report of a domestic situation between Resetar and his wife.

While the officers spoke with Resetar's wife, Resetar allegedly shot at them with a rifle. The officers retreated and one was hit with shrapnel from one of the rifle rounds.

During the nearly six-hour standoff, Resetar fired several round into the police vehicles that were left outside his house.

SWAT officers entered the house around 8 p.m. and found Resetar downstairs in the home unconscious and suffering from a gunshot wound, state police said.

In all, three officers — from the Lynn Police Department, Farmland Police Department and the Randolph County Sheriff's Department — were hit by shrapnel from the rifle fire. All injuries were minor and non-life-threatening, state police said.
