INDIANAPOLIS — A group of teens who stole a running pickup truck Friday morning led police on a chase.
Indianapolis Police Department officers were called to a hotel near 21st Street and Post Road around 2 a.m. for a report of a stolen vehicle.
The truck's owner said they had left it idling when the group jumped into it and drove off. The owner of the truck also told police they had a weapon inside their vehicle.
Police spotted the truck a few blocks away and the teen driver led officers on a pursuit that ended at Garfield Park. All three teens, two 16 year olds and a 14 year old, were taken into custody at the scene.
No one was injured, although the truck did receive minor damage.
The incident remains under investigation.
