TIPTON COUNTY, Ind. -- A registered sex offender was arrested after police found him wandering around the campus of Tipton High School Friday afternoon.
Deputies with the Tipton County Sheriff's Office responded to the school after an employee reported a suspicious vehicle parked on school property near the "bus barn."
When deputies arrived they found the vehicle parked near the Tipton High School "Nature Center" area. The deputy found three adult men walking out of the "Nature Center" toward the vehicle, including Christoper P. Morgan, 21, a registered sex offender.
According to the Indiana Sex Offender registry, Morgan was convicted of child molesting in November 2015 and sentenced to four years in prison.
Morgan was arrested and charged with unlawful entry of school property by a serious sex offender. The other men were detained and questioned but were determined not to be sex offenders.
Tipton High School released a statement saying no student was in danger during the incident.
