MORGAN COUNTY — One person is dead after an early morning crash in Morgan County on Friday.
Morgan County Sheriff Rich Myers says the crash happened around 7:30 a.m. on SR 67 just south of Vickery Road, near Paragon.
Myers said the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. The exact circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.
Myers said the driver was the only person inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
SR 67 was closed for more than two hours while the crash scene was reconstructed and cleared.
The crash remains under investigation by the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.
