INDIANAPOLIS — For some, a Fourth of July spent at Eagle Creek Park was just the ticket.

It's possible to stay safe at the expansive park on the northwest side. WRTV found that's what many people were doing.

Corrie Cook brought an inflatable kayak out to the reservoir, allowing her to hike and get some cool down time in the water.

Says says spending the day at the park is a way to social distance, while enjoying the holiday.

"It's a beautiful day, a little bit of clouds definitely hot and humid. It's a great place to break up the heat. We are lucky in Indiana we have so many amazing natural resources to take advantage of. It's easy to social distance but still have a really good time," said Cook.

COVID-19 is on the forefront of everyone's mind, Cook said, and the safety of the people she loves and others in something she is always thinking about.
