Gander Mountain begins liquidation, 'store closing' sales at all 126 stores nationwide

INDIANAPOLIS -- Hunting, fishing and outdoor gear retailer Gander Mountain has begun a liquidation of its inventory as part of the company's bankruptcy proceeding. 

The company has 126 stores in 26 states nationwide including seven in Indiana. 

Gander Mountain has been in business for 57 years.

In March of this year, the company filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and began looking for a buyer. Earlier this month, Gander Mountain and Overton's were acquired by Camping World Holdings, Inc.

Because of the acquisition, Gander Mountain is liquidating their stores, Camping World will determine at a later date which stores will remain open. 

Marcus Lemonis, the man who controls Camping Wolrd Inc., has already announced that the stores in Greenwood and Avon will remain open. The CNBS host has been fielding questions from customers and announcing plans for the company over the social media platform almost hourly. 

According to the Gander Mountain website, "all firearms, ammunition, shooting, hunting, archery, apparel, footwear, camping, fishing, boating & more" are on sale and "everything must go now."

The site also says gift cards will only be accepted until May 18.
