CARMEL — A restaurant that's been part of the Carmel dining scene since 2000 is closing.

Max & Erma's at 12195 North Meridian Street will serve its last meals Thursday.

James Blystone, a spokesman for Glacier Restaurants, blames traffic flow for a loss of business.

First there was road construction along the U.S. 31 corridor.

Construction ended, but business did not improve.

Blystone says roundabouts in the area make access to the restaurant difficult.

The Max & Erma's in Greenwood closed in 2016.

The casual eating chain has one Indiana location left, in Edinburgh.
