CARMEL, Ind. -- Two teens have been arrested in connection with social media threats last week towards students and staff at Carmel High School.

Carmel police say the male juveniles were charged with felony intimidation and taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.

Carmel police say the school's security plan will remain in place Tuesday with an increased police presence at the high school but they do not believe students were ever under any real threat.

"All evidence supports these social media threats were fabricated by both juveniles and they had no means to carry out the threats," police said in a statement sent Monday evening. "At this time, Carmel Police is still following up on further leads regarding the investigation."
