NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Kroger unveiled a new way to shop for groceries on Thursday that's supposed to help speed up the checkout process.

The Scan, Bag and Go technology was unveiled at the Noblesville store on Hazel Dell Crossing.

This is how it works. You grab a wireless handheld scanner when you enter the store, or you can use the Scan, Bag and Go app on your smartphone to scan and bag products as you shop.

You will then go to the store's self-checkout area to pay.

Soon, you will also be able to pay through the app which will allow you to leave the store quicker.

In addition, you can view digital coupons, keep a running total of your order and view the current week's sales on the app.
