NOBLESVILLE, iND. -- A Noblesville nail salon where a woman claims she got a foot infection finally has a license to operate.

Nails & Lounge in Noblesville has been open for business and seeing customers since August 2017.

According to the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, the nail salon applied for a license on March 4, 2018 and received one on April 16, 2018.

"I think it's ridiculous that something like this can happen," said John Gasso, customer.

"That's something that's always crossed my mind when I go places like hopefully they are using clean utensils and stuff like that, but I guess I'm just naive and never think that it could really happen, you know?" said Kelsey Kintz, customer.

RTV6 discovered that the nail salon didn't have a license after speaking with Jennifer White. Doctors say White contracted a foot infection, most likely from a pedicure she received from the salon.

"They are saying it's due to the fact that I went to the nail salon. The scrapings and things like that caused probably a small incision somewhat and unclean, unsanitary, and it's made the infection settle in my foot," said White.

The IPLA placed the salon under a corrective plan for 30 days.

An inspection on Tuesday showed the salon is no longer in violation or a risk to public health and safety.

The IPLA recommends checking to see if a business has their license in the window on the wall. They must display it at the entrance.

The IPLA also has a search and verify tool on their website where you can look up any business that is licensed in Indiana.
