GREENFIELD, Ind. -- Greenfield Police have arrested a man after he was caught stealing from a construction site.

Officers were called after someone saw 34 year-old Daniel Rutledge and a 16 year-old, both from Greenfield, loading items from a construction site on the 2200 block of William Way into their van on Wednesday evening.

The construction site manager was contacted, and advised officers no one had permission to remove any items from the site. The manager arrived on scene and identified items that were stolen.

Additionally, officers found narcotics, and tools, copper pipe, and wiring that were not from the William Way construction site.

Rutledge was then arrested and charged with theft, criminal trespass, and possession of controlled substance.

Anyone with information about this theft, similar thefts, or the van are asked to contact Detective Randy Ratliff at 317-325-1281.
