HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. -- A man riding a moped was struck and killed Friday night in Hancock County.
Emergency responders were called around 10:00 p.m. to the area of the 3400 block of West US 40 and found a male lying in the road not moving when they arrived.
Randy Smith, 47, of Indianapolis, was killed in the accident. He was riding his moped when he was struck by an 18-year-old woman.
Police do not believe that drugs or alcohol are involved.
At this time, the identity of the 18-year-old driver has not been released.
