New Palestine High School aide arrested for allegedly soliciting sex from student

NEW PALESTINE — An instructional aide at New Palestine High School in Hancock County faces a number of charges after he allegedly tried to solicit sex from a female student.

The Community School Corporation of Southern Hancock County fired 42-year-old Justin McCaw, who was arrested by New Palestine Police.

He faces child seduction, stalking and official misconduct charges.

According to information from the Hancock County Prosecutor, a student at the high school told police McCaw solicited her for sex in the hallway of the school during a passing period earlier in February.

She said he also approached her in the school's parking lot.

Security camera video from the hallway and the parking lot showed McCaw talking to the student in both locations.

McCaw denied the accusations when questioned by police.

In addition to being fired, the school system issued a "no trespass order," to keep McCaw off school property.
