North Salem, Ind. -- There’s an a-MAZE-ing challenge just waiting to be won at the McCloud Nature Park in Hendricks County – and you can check it out for free!

The park itself is a beautiful sight but park staff hopes that people will flock for more than just the view – this year they’ve created a “Prairie Maze” in the shape of a heron.

You heard that right - it’s not a Corn Maze -  it’s a Prairie Maze.

There are over 100 species of plants throughout the maze, including Goldenrod, Big Bluestem and Indian grass.

You might just find yourself watching butterflies or watching the tall grass sway in the wind.

And if you make all the right turns – you’ll only have half a mile to go.

McCloud Nature Park is located at 8518 Hughes Road in North Salem.

The maze will be open and FREE to the public through October 31.
