INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana State Fair starts Friday, and without the State Fair Train to transport thousands of fairgoers this year, getting there and finding parking may be more difficult.

Parking on fair lots, including the infield, is just $5 per vehicle, and is first come first serve. Officials expect that option to fill up fast.

To get to those lots, you can enter through Gate 1 off 38th Street, Gate 6 off of Fall Creek Parkway, or head to the north end of the fairgrounds to 42nd Street and use Gate 10.

EZ Park options are also available for $5 in the lots south of the fairgrounds off 38th Street across from Gate 1, or off 42nd Street at the Indiana School for the Deaf.

The Fair Shuttle is a great option this year. Parking is available at Glendale Mall's Rural Street lot. The shuttle is free and runs every 20 minutes on fair days from 10 a.m. – 11:45 p.m.

IndyGo can also be your ride to the fair. Use Routes 4 or 39 to get dropped off by the fairgrounds.

For those using Uber, traditional taxis or being dropped off, a drop-off zone for fairgoers is located just inside Gate 10 on the north side of the fairgrounds.

If you'd like to save money and gas, you can ride your bike to the fair by using Pedal and Park. You can save $1 off your admission by biking. Use the secure bike racks off the Monon Trail at 38th Street and then walk through Gate 18.
