Hiring Hoosiers: FedEx looking for 1,700 workers

INDIANAPOLIS—FedEx is hiring in Indianapolis.

The company says it wants to add 1,700 permanent and seasonal workers at its huge sorting facility at Indianapolis International Airport and at FedEx Ground locations.

1,200 of the openings are for seasonal jobs to beef up staff during the upcoming holidays and include package handlers and other support positions at FedEx Ground.

500 people will be hired for permanent part-time positions at the airport hub.

At the Indianapolis Express Hub, starting pay is $15 per-hour. Permanent part-time employees are eligible for health benefits, an online college degree program, and career advancement opportunities.

According to the company, many of the seasonal people will have the opportunity to stay with FedEx after the holidays.
