Homicide detectives investigating after finding a person dead on northwest side of Indianapolis

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as Daiontez Locke, 21, according to the Marion County Coroner's Office. There is no cause or manner of death at this time.

INDIANAPOLIS — A person was found unresponsive inside of a vehicle on the northwest side of Indianapolis on Saturday morning.

Around 8:30 a.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the 2100 Block of North Dexter Street, where they found a male "unresponsive in a vehicle," according to IMPD Public Information Officer, Aaron Hamer.

The male was pronounced dead at the scene by Indianapolis EMS.

According to IMPD, the victim had "trauma to his person."

Homicide detectives did respond to the scene.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine and release the exact cause of death. The MCCO will also release the name of the victim at a later time.
