INDIANAPOLIS — There's a strong bond between Pike High School and a pharmaceutical manufacturing company located nearby.

For the past four-years, Exelead has taken part in a mentoring program at Pike.

Thursday, Exelead announced a $50,000 donation to Pike, and the event was also a chance for company employees to meet with students at the Pike Freshman Center.

Exelead mentors visit the school every two-weeks, working on college and career-planning in science-related jobs.

The mentors also share tips on resume writing, interviewing, presentation skills, class projects, lab reports and relationship building.

Students learn more about jobs in science, technology, engineering and math -- the STEM careers.

The $50,000 donation from Exelead owner John Rigg benefits the school's STEM program.
