INDIANAPOLIS — The officers involved in the fatal shooting of McHale Rose have returned to full-duty status, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Rose, 19, was killed in an exchange of gunfire with IMPD officers responding to a burglary call on May 7, just hours after Dreasjon Reed was shot and killed by another officer.

IMPD Officers David Loyal, Pepper Eldridge, Andrew Guzman, and Joseph Maxey, were involved in the fatal shooting of Rose, according to IMPD.

Internal investigators are waiting for a decision from the Marion County Prosecutor's Office before the case will be turned over to IMPD's Firearms Review Board, IMPD Officer William Young said an email.

Rose may have been planning to ambush officers when they responded to the burglary call, IMPD Chief Randal Taylor said in May.
