INDIANAPOLIS -- Family members are asking for help to find an 18-year-old woman who went missing Saturday evening in Indianapolis.

Sarah Heinrich was in town with her parents and brother for a family reunion. She was outside of their hotel, the Marriott off River Crossing, taking photos with her brother just before she disappeared around 7 p.m.

Sarah's mother, Cindy, says she has autism and may be hesitant to talk to strangers.

"We went to take some photos around the hotel," Sarah Heinrich's brother, Sam, said. "I was with her. We came back inside, and when she needed to go use the restroom, I let her do that. Apparently, she came outside when I wasn't looking and just caught a second when I wasn't aware, and she went out to go take some more photos, and I never saw her again."

"She can't really fend for herself because of the autism," said Cindy. "So she can't handle money and do the simple things like that. She had no ID on her. She had no money. Everything is in the room and she left it. She didn't take her clothes or anything with her so there's absolutely nothing, no evidence that she intended to be gone."

Police took a missing person report from Heinrich's parents around 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Family members say her cell phone last pinged near Keystone at the Crossing, but as of Monday it was no longer accepting calls.

Sarah is described as being 5-feet, 6-inches tall and 117 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a tan and white striped shirt with dark colored jeans.

Sarah's parents have hired a private investigator to help them locate their missing daughter.

"We feel time is of the essence," said Cindy. "She disappeared on Saturday and we still have no leads at all."

If you have any information on where Sarah Heinrich may be, contact IMPD at 317-327-3811.
