INDIANAPOLIS — How about starting the New Year off with a new car? It's a big decision so experts at the Indy Auto Show wants to help you.
Right now, 20 different car companies have more than 100 vehicles on the floor at the Indiana Convention Center.
This week there are 2019 and 2020 model cars, SUVs, and trucks that you can check out.
Managers say the great thing about this event is that you have no pressure to buy any vehicle.
Indy Auto Show manager, Marty Murphy, says no sales take place because the goal is to get questions answered.
"It's an opportunity to come in, ask your questions to the products specialist and comparison shop between brands," he said, "And then, hopefully, make an informed decision where you can go to a dealership to make a purchase."
While checking out the rides, you can receive a free ticket to the show, a Frank Reich Football, a food voucher - if you stop by and donate blood through the Indiana Blood Center.
Indiana Blood Center's, Maria Keyler, says it's important that o-negative blood is on their shelves.
"So, it's always important for us to have the blood on our shelves. Specifically the o-neg type," she said. "Because if there is a tragedy or a trauma during the holiday, we will grab those o-neg units the first thing off the shelves."
There will also be a chance to try out some virtual reality experiences if visitors go through the Ivy Tech Community College exhibit. Once going through the exhibit, visitors can experience hands-on equipment from the automotive technology program, and instantly enroll for the chances of winning a scholarship.
The annual Indianapolis Auto Show is hosted by the Greater Metropolitan Indianapolis Automobile Trade Association.
The auto show runs through New Year's Day, with doors opening at 10 a.m. each day. Tickets are $7 at the door, children 12 and under are free.
