90-year-old celebrates her birthday with skydiving

INDIANAPOLIS -- A 90-year-old didn’t want a birthday party this year. She wanted to go skydiving.

On Saturday, Fay Fawbush, from Columbus, Ind. jumped 13,000 feet out of an airplane.

Fawbush, who turned 90 in May, says skydiving that has always been on her bucket list and went to her doctors in Florida to get cleared for the jump.

A press release from SkyDive Indianapolis said, “her doctor cleared her, saying she’s healthy and he saw no reason why she couldn’t jump out of a perfectly good airplane.”

SkyDive Indianapolis said during her pre-flight interview with her sons and daughter-in-law, she made it clear that skydiving was her idea.
