INDIANAPOLIS -- The African American Coalition of Indianapolis is calling for changes to the civilian merit board following the decision to allow the two officers involved in the fatal shooting of Aaron Bailey to return to work.
The coalition wants the city to make several changes, including using outside attorneys in termination hearings.

“We feel that there should be special counsel that is of caliber that can compete with the national talent that the fop has been able to bring to bear so far in these kinds of hearings,” said Marshawn Wolley with the African American Coalition of Indianapolis.
A community meeting to discuss the Civilian Merit Board is set for Thursday at 6 p.m. at School 27.
