BEECH GROVE, Ind. -- Beech Grove Schools had a delayed dismissal Tuesday because of safety concerns due to a police situation nearby with a barricaded suspect.

Police say the person inside the house was only threatening harm to herself, but because of the large police presence and unknown circumstances, they had asked schools to delay dismissal so that no one is passing by the scene until it is clear.

Schools began dismissing students just after 4 p.m.
