INDIANAPOLIS -- Organizers in Broad Ripple are inviting families to the village on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. for the Broad Ripple Lights Up! festival.
This year’s festivities include a Kids Wonderland activity village, live entertainment, Indianapolis’ only twilight parade and a holiday light display lighting ceremony along the brand-new Canal Esplanade (north bank of the Central Canal between Guilford Ave and College Ave).
Lights Up! planners currently need volunteers to help coordinate the event.
Lights Up! Itinerary:
3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Kids' Wonderland Village
Carrollton Avenue near Fresh Thyme
Bring the kids to explore the Kids' Wonderland Village where you'll find all sorts of fun activities, visits with Santa, entertainment, and food and drink. All offerings at the Kids Wonderland are free.
The city's only night-time parade. All parade units are festively decorated and lighted, making it a unique experience for families and a wonderful way for the community to ring in the holiday season. The parade starts at Broad Ripple Avenue and the Monon Trail, heads west on Broad Ripple Ave. and circles back past the firehouse on Westfield Blvd. to Winthrop Ave. Spectators are invited to join in the parade and walk with Santa to the Firehouse for the Lighting Ceremony.
