Bronze, life-sized statues of Indiana sports legends coming to the Children's Museum

INDIANAPOLIS – Children will get a chance to snap a photo with sports legends like Larry Bird and Wilma Rudolph when the 7.5 acre Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis opens in spring 2018.

Bronze, life-sized sculptures of 15 athletes and coaches will be placed along the Old National Bank Sports Legends Avenue of Champions within the complex to help children learn of their accomplishments.

Children will find sculptures of: DaMarcus Beasley, Larry Bird, Tamika Catchings, Hank Aaron, Peanut Johnson, Toni Stone, Pete and Alice Dye, A.J. Foyt, Wayne Gretzky, Bobby “Slick” Leonard, Reggie Miller, and Oscar Robertson, Wilma Rudolph, Reggie Wayne and Barbara Wynne.

At the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience, a variety of activities will be available for kids where they can play mini golf, basketball, football, drive on the mini racing speedway and more.
