INDIANAPOLIS -- The bus for Andrea Thomas' four kids is supposed to come at 7 a.m.

But on the morning of Aug. 17, the bus to take the kids to Andrew J. Brown Academy on Indianapolis' east side was more than an hour. And it wasn't the first time.

"This was the third time over two weeks," Thomas said. "The other times, the bus was 35 minutes late, then 45 minutes late."

Thomas then called the school, which directed them to the bus company, Miller Transportation.

"It was frustrating to me to try and get a resolution from them on what we can do," she said.

But Thomas said the bus company wasn't having it. Over the period of three hours, she was hung up on and placed on hold. Despite a police report made by the bus company that says Thomas called more than 100 times, her call logs only show six completed calls.

"It's like I don't know what else to do," Thomas said.

She admits that she was frustrated on the phone with the company, but a week later, she got a letter from the school. The letter said her kids were banned from riding the school bus because of her calls and the police report filed against her.

"My children's bus never came that day," she said. "Because I was unwilling to hang up and accept that 'Oh whatever, we don't have the time to talk to you,' that my kids get put off the bus. I don't think it is fair."

After Call 6 Investigates' Paris Lewbel made called the bus company and the school to inquire on the status of Thomas' children, they were allowed back on the bus Wednesday morning.
