CBD oil passes first Senate hurdle, now goes to full Senate for vote

INDIANAPOLIS - A bill that would allow Hoosiers to buy and sell CBD oil with up to .3 percent THC in it has passed its first Senate hurdle. 

The Corrections and Criminal Law Committee approved the bill Tuesday with a 7-2 vote. 

The bill now heads to the full Senate for debate. 

SB 52 is just one of several bills regarding CBD oil that is being considered by lawmakers this session.

The bill gets rid of the state registry for CBD oil users and makes it legal as long as the product contains less than .3 percent THC. 

CBD oil has been a hot topic this year after Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill cracked down on the sale of CBD and declared it illegal in the state.
