INDIANAPOLIS — One week after Pastor Davey Blackburn announced he was resigning from the church he founded, leaders at Resonate Church say the congregation is tens of thousands of dollars in debt.
Resonate Church leaders have announced that they're shutting down.
A dissolution plan to dissolve the church went out to congregation members on Sunday.
The plan shows resonate owes nearly $36,000 more than the church has in the bank.
In a statement to RTV6, the church said Resonate will not have any outstanding balances when it closes.
In order to do that, the church will sell off tens of thousands of dollars in equipment.

"...were any of the funds misappropriated? great question. Absolutely not. Money and donations that came in the form of tithes and from the outside all went in. There are multiple checks and balances for every check that was written out of the church or coming in. There was no misappropriation whatsoever. There is no money that went places it shouldn't be. What we were not, as a church, is good stewards of what we had if you wanna know the truth."
Davey Blackburn received national attention after his wife Amanda, who was pregnant, was murdered in their Indianapolis home three years ago.
Blackburn has since remarried.
