It's a call to arms, or rather, feet, at the Irsay Family YMCA on Indianapolis's south side.

The fitness center on the corner of South and Delaware Streets has a donation bin in its lobby, where people can drop new, used, or gently-use shoes to help those affected by the recent wave of back-to-back hurricanes.

The YMCA staff says the shoes will be handed out to hurricane victims in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico --- places where Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria made international headlines, leaving behind devastating damage, displacing thousands of families.

The non-profit, Changing Footprints, is behind the collection drive at the YMCA.

The shoe drive ends on Tuesday, October 31st. The shoes will then be shipped from Indianapolis.
Organizers say they are also looking for socks donations, and men's and children's shoes too.
