INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis American Red Cross has sent 26 Indiana volunteers to the East Coast in preparation for Hurricane Florence.
The Red Cross is preparing to provide relief to as many as 100,000 people.
The team will be working with local and state officials to help prepare evacuation shelters.
An emergency response vehicle is also being deployed from Indianapolis with additional supplies and equipment. That along with additional volunteers is expected to leave today.
The Hoosiers will be working with more than 700 volunteers to assist those affected in the wake of the hurricane.
