INDIANAPOLIS -- A dump truck crashed into an electronic sign Friday morning, bringing traffic to a halt on Indianapolis' east side.
Around 4:30 a.m., a dump truck was traveling west on I-70 between Emerson and Keystone avenues. The bed of the truck raised up and hit the INDOT sign, bringing part of it down.
The westbound lanes were closed until about 11 a.m.
If you're heading into downtown #Indy this morning on I-70 from the east side, you might need to find an alternate route. I-70 WB is closed at Emerson Ave for a crash. A dump truck hit an @INDOTEast message board. Cleanup will take several hours. #rtv6 #breaking pic.twitter.com/we8zqdliIZ
