INDIANAPOLIS -- If you have colored headlights or lamps anywhere on your vehicle, you have a couple more weeks to get them changed.

Starting July 1, only two colors of headlights will be allowed: white or amber.

The new law bans popular headlight colors such as red, blue, green and yellow on the front of vehicles.

Regarding those bright LED lights on new cars that look blue, Indiana State Police Sergeant John Perrine says those are okay as long as they come from the manufacturer.

But, it’s not just the front lights that are changing.

Stop lamps or taillights must all be red and license plate lights can only be white. The backup lights are also being restricted to only amber or white.

Emergency vehicles will be exempt from this law.
