INDIANAPOLIS -- A building named after a woman who made her fortune selling beauty products is getting a makeover.
The Madame Walker Theatre Center in downtown Indianapolis will be restored with help from Indiana University and a 15 million grant from the Lilly Endowment.
Indiana University is also partnering with the theater to use it for classes, workshops and community events.
The school says they want to help advance the legacy of Madame C.J. Walker whose beauty and hair care company made her the most successful African-American business owner of all time.
