INDIANAPOLIS – For some students, class has been in session for over a week now. But that doesn’t mean that all of those students are prepared. Teachers’ Treasure is trying to help.

Teachers can visit the store in Indianapolis to get supplies for students who show up with nothing.

“It's very very common children will show up with nothing and or just some of the things that are on that list,” Margaret Sheehan of Teachers’ Treasure said. “So that's why we're here.”

Several teachers say they have spent their own money on school supplies, some saying they do it every year. When they go to Teachers’ Treasure, they can get school supplies for their classroom at no cost to them.

“Through the years I've bought quite a few things for the kids. This has given us an opportunity to cut back on that a little bit,” said local music teacher Jenny McAllister.

Throughout the school year, teachers can register to shop all school year.

Teachers’ Treasure accepts donations all year. If you would like to donate or learn more, you can visit their website.

Items will also be accepted at Colts’ Camp.
