A man was found dead in the road after a shooting on the city's northeast side.
INDIANAPOLIS -- A man found dead in the road on Indianapolis' northeast side marks the seventh homicide of 2018.
Officers were called to the 3700 block of N. Wallace Avenue just after 4 a.m. Saturday.
When they arrived they found a man lying dead in the road. He's been identified as Tyrone Burt, 40, by the Marion County Coroner's Office.
Based on witness information and evidence recovered from the scene police arrested 41-year-old Toby George Saturday evening. He's currently charged with murder.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
