INDIANAPOLIS – A man in a motorized chair was killed after he was hit by a vehicle on Indy’s west side Wednesday night.

The 72-year-old man in a motorized chair was struck in the 2500 block of West Morris Street around 7:30 p.m. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were alerted after a group of people found the man face down in a pool of water along the side of the road.

He was taken to the hospital where he died, officers said. They believe he was on the road when the incident happened and the car may have dragged him several feet.

The victim was later identified as Roger Roska.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene, officers said and investigators began speaking with witnesses and collecting surveillance video to find the suspect.

"We're treating this as a felony criminal hit and run and looking for any information that anyone may have," said IMPD Capt. Harold Turner.

Police are currently looking for a 1994 - 2002 Dodge Ram Pickup. The color is unknown at this time.
