INDIANAPOLIS -- A 7-year-old boy reported missing in Indianapolis Tuesday evening has been found safe.

The child was reported missing after family members say he never returned home after getting off the bus near his apartment in the area of Township Line Road and Westlane Road.

Family members were worried he may be lost because he has only lived in the area for a couple of weeks.

Police located the child early Wednesday morning and said there was some sort of daycare mix-up that caused him to not return home.

The child's mother said he was supposed to get on a bus after school, but he actually got in a day care van, where he used to be enrolled. When he was still in day care at 11 p.m., the personnel became concerned and called the director. The director tracked down the mother, who picked up her son.
