WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- For the sixth year in a row, Purdue University's Board of Trustees voted not to raise tuition.

Tuition rates will remain the same for the 2018-19 academic year as they have the five years past, and the university says students attending the West Lafayette campus will even pay a little less.

That's because room and board rates at the West Lafayette and the Fort Wayne campuses will actually go down this year.

"This means the cost of attending Purdue will be less in 2019 than in 2012," the university said in a release.

Room and board at the Northwest-Hammond campus will remain the same as it did last year.

“We are continuing our commitment to making a Purdue education obtainable and affordable for students and families,” Purdue President Mitch Daniels said. “To get the most out of the university experience, we want to make it an attainable option for students to live on campus, where they can take full advantage of the academic and social benefits a university campus has to offer.”
