INDIANAPOLIS — One person was killed in what police are calling a home invasion on Indianapolis' north side Tuesday evening.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the home in 6400 block of Central Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

Responding officers say a male suspect was shot by the homeowner during an attempted home invasion/robbery. The exact details of what happened have not been released and it is unclear if that person was acting alone.

Police say the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and they do not believe there is any threat to the general public.

The incident remains under investigation. If you have any information call the IMPD Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
