INDIANAPOLIS — Police have arrested a 48-year-old man in connection to three robberies in Broad Ripple this month.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded around 1 p.m. Saturday to The Shop, 920 Broad Ripple Ave., on a robbery. IMPD said in a report the man took at least $215.
The 48-year-old man from Indianapolis was arrested and preliminary charged with robbery and kidnapping, according to a police report.
The Shop was also robbed on Dec. 5. The suspect in that robbery used a firearm and took at least $200, according to a police report.
It is unknown at this time if the person arrested in connection with Saturday’s robbery is the same suspect in the Dec. 5 robbery.
No one was injured in either robbery.
The man also allegedly robbed Three Dog Bakery, 844 Broad Ripple Ave., on Dec, 4, according to a press release from IMPD.
The Broad Ripple Village Association released the following statement in an email:
“We recently communicated about several robberies on Broad Ripple Avenue. Unfortunately the perpetrator struck again today, Saturday December 15th at The Shop. This time an employee was able to obtain additional information regarding the perpetrator and we are glad to report that IMPD has already arrested the suspect. Thanks to IMPD for taking swift action. Luckily no one was harmed in any of these incidents. Based on the information available and our conversations with each business owner involved, we believe these crimes to have been committed by the same male perpetrator.”
RTV6 has reached out to IMPD by email for more information on both robberies and is awaiting a response.
