Man found dead in garage in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Ind. -- Lawrence police are investigating their third homicide of 2018 after officers found the body of a 63-year-old man early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the 4900 block of Karen Drive to investigate a welfare check. Family members of William Bowling, 63, said they couldn't find him. 

When they arrived, officers found Bowling dead inside the garage. 

The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma, and the manner of death was homicide.

Detectives do not believe it was a random act.
