Woman dead after suffering from undisclosed trauma Saturday afternoon on Indy's northeast side

INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating after a woman died from an undisclosed trauma Saturday afternoon.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers say they believe the incident occurred in the 7800 block of Brookfield Court, which is in the Farmington Lake Apartments on the city’s northeast side.

IMPD officers were dispatched to a person shot around 1:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of North Franklin Street – about a mile away from the apartment complex. When they arrived, they found the woman suffering from an undisclosed trauma.

Medics transported the person to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The Marion County Coroner has identified the victim as Brittany Tate, 30. Her cause of death has been determined to be multiple sharp force traumatic injuries. 

At this time, no arrests have been made. The identity of any possible suspects have not been released.
